The ‘My Home.. making every penny count’ DVD is an innovative approach to tackling the day to day financial issues that a tenant may run into when first starting a tenancy with a social landlord. The film explores the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ approach to money handling and highlights the dangers of adopting a ‘careless’ attitude towards household finances. For using nature to improve and enhance the lives of vulnerable and socially excluded people
The Hyde Group, a social landlord, was instrumental in transforming a neglected and fly-tipped ancient woodland area into the ‘Enchanted Woodland’ and creating in the process a community-led development trust to own, manage and enhance the area, for use by its tenants and the local community in the Temple Hill area of Dartford, Kent. For work to improve speaking, reading and writing of school-children and of socially excluded adults and young people
The Double Club is a collaboration between The Connaught secondary school, Connaught Leisure, Aldershot Town FC and Aldershot's Wado Dojo karate club to engage pupils in literacy in the context of family and community, to improve liaison between primary and secondary schools, increase self-esteem among pupils in an area of high deprivation, improve the fitness of parents and their involvement with their children's education, and improved literacy across Aldershot. FRED provides free 1-to-1 reading support for parents, unemployed people, ex-offenders, and older people in the Forest of Dean area, parts of which are in the worst 10% of the most deprived areas in the country for eduation and skills training. FRED matches voluntary reading coaches with people over 18 years who self-identify their need to improve their literacy. More here

For outstanding services that have strengthened a sense of identity and belonging for prisoners and ex-offenders
This is an educational media course and prisoner-made television channel which can be viewed by other prisoners in their cells at HMP Downview women's prison. The channel offers information, advice, celebration of cultural and religious festivals and peer-to-peer programmes. The project promotes work ethics, confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills. More here
