Update: Access to the arts, galleries and museums for people with learning disabilities

Following the publication of Re-imagine: improving access to the arts, galleries and museums for people with learning disabilities and Arts and vulnerable people: examining the evidence base, we are continuing to work on improving access to the arts for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities.

We are continuing to support the London Symphony Orchestra with the evaluation of their LSO Create programme for people with learning disabilities. You can read more about this work here. In addition we are working with the LSO to explore creative process in special schools.

We recently supported Tate to establish a local network of support organisations interested in promoting access to the galleries for young people with learning disabilities. You can read more about this project here

We are now in the process of developing a series of creative activities and programmes for people with learning disabilities, based at mainstream arts venues, museums and galleries. Details of these projects will be published here once they are made available.

If you would like to register to refer families for a relaxed performance of The Gruffalo - Live! in the west end, please click here

You can find out about other opportunities in the arts for people with learning disabilities here.

For more information about our work on improving access to the arts please contact Sarah.
